Smokey Obsessions by Huda Beauty: Review & Swatches

This eye shadow palette features mainly warm eye shadows of both shimmer and matte finishes. There are 9 colors in the palette, 4 of which are matte and 6 are shimmer. The palette is easy to use, the shadows are easily blendable and long-wearing. The coverage varies from color to color and is semi-opaque or opaque. Color Description & Formula

Black Smokey.

This is a deep black eye shadow with warm undertone and matte finish. The consistency is quite thin, yet the color applies smooth without creating that patchy coverage. The color does not stick well to the naked skin, yet works pretty well over eye shadow primer. The color is well pigmented and wars for 8+ hours.

Nude Smokey.

This is a light brown eye shadow with warm undertone, matte finish and soft formula. The texture is quite powdery, yet the color applies even and gives good coverage. To get adequate amount of eye shadow, you will need to take very small amount of eye shadow. This color blends well and stays for 7+ hours applied over primer.

Brown Glitter Smokey.

This is a medium brown color with warm undertone and metallic glitter. The pigmentation is extremely rich, the texture is smooth to apply both on bare skin and when applied over a primer. The formula is creamy and somewhat dense, yet is not stiff. It wears for 8+ hours with minimal fallout.

Silver Smokey Glitter.

This is a sparkling pewter shadow with metallic shimmer finish and cool undertone. The texture is creamy and when applied, features very little fallout when applied. To get brighter finish, we recommend applying it with slightly damp synthetic brush. The shadow features excellent playoff and wears for 8+ hours with minimal fallout.

Chocolate Smokey Glitter.

This is a deep brown color with warm undertone and pearly glitter finish. The shadow features opaque coverage when applied in one layer. The texture is somewhat dusty, yet blends well and adheres evenly both to bare skin and over the primer. The shadow wears without noticeable fallout for 8+ hours.

Gold Smokey Glitter.

This eye shadow is bright with warm undertone, glitter metallic sheen that is somewhat between gold and copper. The shadow features opaque pigmentation and applies well on both bare skin and over the primer. The texture gives certain fallout during the application, yet wears pretty well for 8+ hours.

Dark Chocolate Smokey.

This is a deep brown chocolate color with warm undertones and matte finish. The color coverage is good, which gives opaque coverage when applied in two layers. The formula is smooth and soft, blends well, is easily blendable and does not give that patchy coverage. The color wears for 8+ hours without fading.

Brown Smokey.

This is a taupe brown color with warm undertone and perfectly matte finish. The color is opaque, yet is somewhat dusty. Yet it is easily blendable and features soft consistency. The color wears well without fading for 8+ hours. This is a good color for the basic makeups.

Pink Smokey Glitter.

This eye shadow features pink peachy color with warm undertone and metallic glitter finish. The texture is creamy and applies smooth, is moderately dense and is easy to pickup with a synthetic eye shadow brush. It applies well both over the primer and on bare skin. The eye shadow wears well for 8+ hours.
